From Tenuta delle Terre Nere's pioneering portfolio of contrada-specific Etna Rossos, the Guardiola occupies a celebrated high-altitude site on the north slopes of Mount Etna, known for producing wines of extraordinary mineral intensity and ethereal character from old Nerello Mascalese vines. The 2010 vintage on Etna produced wines of excellent depth and balance, combining the volcanic minerality of the mountain with the translucent grace that distinguishes these high-altitude sites from lower, warmer contrade. Jancis Robinson MW gave it 16.5 out of 20, and Antonio Galloni from Vinous gave it a rating of 93.
