Tenuta delle Terre Nere is among the pioneers of contrada-specific Etna Rosso, and Guardiola is one of its celebrated high-altitude sites on the volcano’s north slopes, planted to old Nerello Mascalese on poor volcanic sand and basalt between roughly eight hundred and nine hundred metres. The site is harvested later than the others and rewards bottle age. The 2020 is a structured, mineral-driven vintage of Guardiola holding much of its power in reserve.
