The 2020 vintage produced a Trust Your Gut of excellent freshness, fine natural balance and appealing old-vine Chenin expression, the season's renewed vigour showing clearly in the wine's clean, mineral-tinged fruit and natural acidity. Van Loggerenberg's 2020 Trust Your Gut Chenin Blanc earned 93 points from Tim Atkin MW. Produced from old-vine Chenin Blanc in the Western Cape, whole-bunch pressed and wild-fermented with restrained intervention, Trust Your Gut embodies Lukas van Loggerenberg's commitment to honest, terroir-driven winemaking at every level of his portfolio, a wine of genuine character that consistently delivers more than its price suggests.
Provenance
The late David Brice was a respected wine connoisseur, collector and co-founder of Brice and Burnett – The Fine Wine Specialists (formerly Wine Cellar). His lifelong passion for wine from all corners of the world wine, and generosity, helped develop a culture of fine wine in South Africa and beyond. Always with value and authenticity in mind, the collection spans a wide range of styles from leading producers and diverse regions. The wines were professionally imported under refrigeration and carefully stored at Brice and Burnett (formerly Wine Cellar) thereafter. Many of the producers are not available in South Africa and provide an excellent buying opportunity.
