The De Krans Cape Vintage Port 1993 represents one of the estate's early landmark releases, produced at a time when Calitzdorp was establishing itself as the heartland of South African fortified wine. Crafted from Portuguese cultivars including Touriga Nacional, Tinta Barocca and Souzao, the 1993 was vinified in the traditional style with foot-treading and has matured over more than three decades into a wine of complex, layered secondary character: dried fruit, walnuts, leather, dark chocolate and earthy spice, with a silky, integrated palate and long finish.
