About the Session

The Port session is a true treasure trove for collectors of Cape and Portuguese fortified wines. It is rare to encounter a collection of vintage Ports such as those featured in the 2026 Strauss Winter Catalogue. With the colder evenings approaching, these complex and beautifully layered wines make the perfect companions to open before dinner, adding warmth and atmosphere to any gathering.

Critics Ratings

2009:
'Rich, ripe and raisiny. Firm tannins and a great value fortified wine. Fine tannins and ripe.' - Julia Harding MW, JancisRobinson.com, 16/20 (May 2013)

'As if to prove that their Vintage Reserves age like a dream, the Nels have rereleased this mature, Touriga Nacional-based marvel from their cellars. Still very serious, with plenty more to give, it's dense, firm and sweet, with tobacco and blackberry fruit and some bottle development. 2019-29' - Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2019, 94/100
