Notes
A Ming celadon plate with a soft, lustrous glaze showing a subtle reddish tone at the base. This warm tint results from the iron-rich celadon body and the controlled reduction firing typical of Ming kilns. Historically, early collectors associated this colour shift with “magical” or reactive properties, believing the glaze could change appearance when in contact with certain substances. A well-fired and finely proportioned example of traditional Ming celadon ware.
