About this Item

A pair of ceramic bowls, Qing dynasty, late 19th century
each height: 5cm; diameter 11,5cm

Notes

Small moulded ceramic bowls, in the style of Southern Song Guan ware, with a turquoise-green crackle glaze referencing classical celadon. The exterior is decorated with scattered famille-verte floral motifs and bears an apocryphal red seal mark to the base. Such pieces were commonly made in the late Qing to Republic period as scholar’s desk objects, imitating celebrated earlier wares.
