Notes
James Butler was a renowned British sculptor known for his monumental works, including military memorials and public commissions. Educated at Maidstone Grammar School, Maidstone School of Art, and the Royal College of Art, he initially worked as a stone carver before dedicating himself to sculpture full-time. His significant projects include the statue of Jomo Kenyatta in Nairobi and the Rainbow Division Memorial in France.
