‘The Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge may be the youngest of the valley's three wards in terms of vineyard age, but it's producing increasingly impressive wines. ‘The 2019 Pinot Noir Saurwein Om is matured in 25% new oak for 10 months. It has a perfumed bouquet of strawberry pastilles, raspberry and touches of brown spice, all well defined and with plenty fruit. The palate is sweet and candied on the entry, then you feel the structure exert a gentle grip. Black fruit laced with touches of black pepper on the aftertaste.
