About this Item
A 3 litre bottle of Neil Ellis Wines Tempranillo 2017
This rare 3-litre format of Tempranillo 2017 is a heartfelt tribute to both place and partnership. The grapes hail from a special site on a farm called Amper Bo—a name that translates to “Almost at the Top,” symbolising the ongoing journey of excellence in viticulture and winemaking.
Crafted from this distinctive vineyard, the wine reflects both the rugged charm of the site and the commitment of the grower. Tempranillo, rarely seen in the Cape, finds a unique and expressive voice here. The 2017 vintage showcases vibrant red cherry and savoury spice, supported by supple tannins and a graceful, lingering finish. Aged in seasoned oak, the wine balances Old World restraint with New World purity.
This large-format bottle not only allows for extended ageing but also invites celebration—of craft, of community, and of reaching ever closer to the summit.
This wine is packed in a wooden box.
