About this Item
Notes
Introduced in 1968, the Rolex Cellini lineup has been home to the brand's non-Oyster dress watches. Rolex named the collection after the Florentine goldsmith, sculptor, and painter, Benvenuto Cellini, who was known for creating masterpieces during the Renaissance period that are still studied and celebrated today. Rolex, founded in 1905 by Hans Wilsdorf, is one of the world’s most influential luxury watchmakers, celebrated for blending technical innovation with timeless design. The brand pioneered breakthroughs such as the first waterproof wristwatch, the Oyster (1926), and the self-winding Perpetual rotor (1931), setting new standards in horology. Over the decades, Rolex has introduced iconic models like the Submariner, Daytona, and Day-Date, each tied to exploration, sport, and prestige. Notably, Rolex is owned by the Hans Wilsdorf Foundation, a charitable trust, which means its profits support philanthropy and social causes. Today, Rolex is known not only as one of the leaders in watchmaking but also as a cultural and charitable icon, symbolising precision, durability, and success.
