Notes
Vacheron Constantin, founded in Geneva in 1755 by Jean-Marc Vacheron, is the world’s oldest continuously operating watchmaker. Joined by François Constantin in 1819, the maison adopted its enduring motto: “Do better if possible, and that is always possible.” Renowned for pioneering mechanised watch production under Georges-Auguste Leschot in the 19th century, it became a benchmark of Swiss horology. Its emblem, the Maltese cross (1880), reflects this pursuit of precision. Over centuries, Vacheron Constantin has created masterpieces for royalty and collectors, culminating in innovations like the Reference 57260 (2015), the most complicated mechanical watch ever made. Today, it remains a symbol of uninterrupted heritage, artistry, and technical mastery.
