In John Platter's 1986 South African Wine Guide, it was noted that this 'beautiful, traditional estate in Ida's Valley' - under its 'studious, soft-spoken cellarmaster, Etienne le Riche' - was now supplementing its well-known red with excellent whites - and also a 'Port' which was introduced in the following edition of the guide.
