About this Item

2017 Upper Hemel en Aarde Valley Pinot Noir
6 (1 x 6) 750ml

In search of cool climate terroir, Bosman Family Vineyards came upon a little piece of heaven: Sea-facing vineyards produce slow-ripening grapes that make complex and elegant wines with a signature salinity.

Critics Ratings

'One hundred percent Pinot Noir, the 2017 Upper Hemel en Aarde Valley Pinot Noir has a light ruby color and begins with a tart cherry nose, soft fruit, leather and spiced earth aromas. The palate has all of the classic and entry-level Pinot Noir flavors, with a soft stemmy quality that reminds me of the cool-climate Pinots from New Zealand. This is a safe bet for Pinot Noir beginners, as it has a quick finish and is light-bodied. I find that Pinot Noir is difficult to get right in South Africa. This wine was aged for ten months in 20% new French Burgundian oak barrels.' - Anthony Mueller, Wine Advocate (Oct 2019)
