'The maiden release under Abrie Beeslaar's own label is floral, enticing and beautifully framed, with masses of sweet, brambly fruit, hints of Asian spices, supple tannins and a core of minerality.' - Tim Atkin MW, Decanter, 96/100
'This spends 17 months in French oak, 50% of which is new. It's taut, dense and quite structured with fresh, expressive ripe red cherry and berry fruits. Concentrated and structured, yet still fresh and elegant with the oak perfectly integrated into the dense fruit. There's a savoury, mineral dimension under the fruit. Like a Grand Cru Burgundy, this isn't really ready yet (it's still tight-wound and a bit burly), but should age into graceful elegance over 20 years.' - Jamie Goode, Wineanorak.com, 94/100 (Apr 2014)
'It's magnificent. Enticing aromas of red rather than black fruit, some potpourri and attractive oak spice. Dense on the palate - sturdy but not squat - with excellent fruit purity and the most intricate latticework of tannins. The level of extraction and use of oak really is immaculate and there's no shortage of freshness. Flavour-wise, there's nothing too obvious - some cherry upfront while the finish has a sort of salted-meat savouriness about it but what impresses this wine is its deep sense of vinosity and it should age extremely well. If this is 21st century Pinotage, then game on.' - Christian Eedes, Winemag.co.za, 94/100 (Nov 2013)
