Notes
Doll maker: Ethelina Mamqaba, a grandmother from one of the peri-urban Cape Town areas, supporting her whole family by hand-making the Tutu Dolls.
When presented with the first doll, the Arch replied: "What gorgeous surprises. I don't know whether there will be a market but you must all be congratulated."
