Lourensford Estate was once part of neighbouring Vergelegen, which was established by Willem Adriaan van der Stel in 1709 and was revived by Dr Christo Wiese in 1998.
The wine maker Philip Costandius was then a Cape Winemakers Guild member and produced this special wine for the CWG Auction.
Critics Ratings
Tasting over 320 wines for his 'South Africa Focus', Tanzer says he had “saved some of South Africa’s finest wines for last”. The stars of the show included the 2004 Lourensford Limited Release. (scored 94 points) published on WINE.CO.ZA - 12 April, 2007
