Situated on the scenic slopes of the Helderberg mountain, Rust en Vrede is one of Stellenbosch’s oldest estates, dating back to 1694 and is today owned by Jean Engelbrecht. The fine Helderberg terroir produces concentrated and highly celebrated reds.

Rust en Vrede was chosen by President Nelson Mandela to serve at the Nobel Peace Prize dinner and was the first red SA wine to be included in the Top 100 Wines of the World by Wine Spectator.

Critics Ratings

‘Patience required for full splendours of latest 01; richness, grandeur still sheathed in fine, dense tannin. Bit more powerful, demonstrative than pvs, but seamless cab/shiraz/merlot alliance (53/35/12), overall balance, distinction of this acclaimed grand vin remains.
