Critics Ratings

Beaumont Vitruvian 2009
‘38% Mourvèdre, 27% Pinotage, 12% Cabernet Franc, 12% Petit Verdot, 11% Shiraz. Black fruit with less definition than their Mourvèdre, and therefore has a somewhat blurred quality. Very bitter, tight fruit.’ – Richard Hemming MW, JancisRobinson.com, 18/20 (May 2014)

‘Petit Verdot. Gorgeous, creamy and lifted red and black fruit, with plenty of cassis and really ripe blackcurrant, lots of cream and cocoa, lots of plushness but has a suggestion of a firm backbone. The palate is juicy and has a big, lean, slightly gamy focus with chocolate covered cherry. The palate is smooth with really nice quality of oak that adds a smoky swirl and touch of plum skin, tart freshness. Lovely length.’ – Tom Cannavan, Wine-pages.com, 92/100

Beaumont Leo's 2011
'Leo’s Chenin Blanc that was not for public consumption. One barrel of the wine only is made, bottled in Magnums, and so rare indeed. This Chenin Blanc was richer and more intense still. Medium straw in colour, the tropical style showed from notes of nutty lemon, melon, and guava. The grapes are fermented in their skins to provide for wine with a full and inviting mouthfeel, creamy and with a prolonged finish.'

Beaumont Vitruvian 2015
'Eclectic mourvèdre-led (30%) harmonious blend with cab franc, pinotage, syrah & petit verdot in beautiful 2015. Fragrant red berry fruit intensity is leavened by savoury & spicy flavours with sleek, well-tailored tannins; the different components ensure a unique experience.' - Platter's SA Wine Guide 2019, 4.5* (93/100)
