Notes
George Jones was among the foremost producers of Victorian majolica, a type of earthenware pottery, moulded in high relief and covered with opaque, coloured lead glaze.
Introduced during the 1870s, his garden seats, intended for conservatories and formal gardens, were created for both functional seating and as an ornamental garden feature.
