Notes
This model was Denmark's best-selling armchair and was nicknamed 'Great Dane', referring to the generous scale of the chair compared with many Danish lounge chairs of the period, as well as its iconic Danish character.
Grete Jalk was one of the leading figures in Danish Modern furniture design and one of the few women to achieve international prominence in a male-dominated industry.
She opened her own design studio in 1953, working with leading Danish manufacturers including Fritz Hansen. Her work combined exceptional craftsmanship with innovative moulded and laminated plywood construction inspired by Alvar Aalto and Charles Eames.
Newly upholstered in a high-quality light blue stain-resistant FibreGuard fabric from Home Fabrics — featuring Stain Free Technology for everyday durability.
