engraved 'PLIA CASTELLI ITALY' on the back of the steel seat frame
Notes
When the 'Plia' chair was originally introduced at the 1967 Fiera del Mobile in Milan, it was presented as “the symbol of a new era focused on plastic” and would go on to be featured in MoMA's 1970s Radical Furniture exhibition.
The chair folds effortlessly to a slim profile through Piretti's patented three-disc pivot mechanism and includes the original hanging storage rack, allowing the chairs to be neatly suspended when folded away.
The famous Italian fashion designer Mila Schön was known for ordering thousands of Plia chairs for her fashion shows.
