Ingrid Uys grew up in various small towns and close to nature in the provinces of the Free State and Mpumalanga, South Africa. The artist spent many hours visually documenting her world, and from a very young age she frequently escaped into painting and drawing. Specialising in oil painting, she explores and refines her themes and subject matter, always drawing from her own life and surroundings as inspiration. She has exhibited both in South Africa and internationally. Uys currently lives and works in Johannesburg.
