Critics Ratings
"The 2008 Straw Wine has a deep amber color. The nose is deeply honeyed with marmalade, toffee apple, aszu and a touch of tangerine. The palate is viscous on the entry, not unctuous, with touches of marmalade, rosewater, peach and nectarine. There is just a touch of warmth on the back palate, but there is sufficient freshness and delineation towards the finish to suggest that it will last for another 20 years." - Neal Martin, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, 94/100 (Nov 2015)
"Delicious tarte-tatin juice with great tang, made from air-dried Chenin." - Jancis Robinson, JancisRobinson.com, 17.5/20 (Nov 2009)
"Very sweet and lush, with date, maple syrup, candied orange peel and clove notes rolling through the viscous-textured palate. The long, ginger- and clove-filled finish has power, but stays focused. Chenin Blanc." - James Molesworth, Wine Spectator, 91/100 (Sep 2009)
