About this Item
Meerlust Cabernet Sauvignon 1983 (1 x 750ml)
Meerlust Merlot 1989 (2 x 750ml)
Few Cape estates carry the history of Meerlust, farmed by the Myburgh family for eight generations on the cool, maritime flats near False Bay in Stellenbosch. This lot pairs two mature library reds from the estate, a Cabernet Sauvignon 1983 and a Merlot 1989, the latter an early example of a variety Meerlust helped pioneer at the Cape. Rare survivors from the 1980s, they offer a glimpse of Stellenbosch winemaking a generation ago, from one of South Africa’s most storied names.
