About this Item

Cabernet Sauvignon 2015
6 (1 x 6) 750ml
Meerlust is one of South Africa's most historic estates, in the Myburgh family for eight generations, on the cool, maritime flats near False Bay in Stellenbosch. This is its varietal Cabernet Sauvignon. 2015 was an outstanding, dry Cape vintage. Neal Martin from Vinous gave it a rating of 91, and Anthony Mueller reviewed it for Robert Parker's Wine Advocate.

Critics Ratings

"It has a lifted, intense bouquet of blackberry, raspberry, briar, cedar and light tobacco scents. A subtle marine influence lends complexity. The palate is clean and fresh on the entry, offering graphite-tinged black fruit, much better weight in the mouth than the 2015 "red", and a gentle grip on the finish. This is an impressive Cabernet from Meerlust that should age with style." - Neal Martin, Vinous, 91/100 (Aug 2018)

"The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon starts with tones of oak and earth with a black fruit core. The full-bodied palate is dense and chewy, filled with blackberry, dark cherry and plum and expressing soft oak notes of vanilla and nutmeg. It is precise and grippy with spicy focus, giving hints of cedar and graphite, with a lingering, concentrated finish." - Anthony Mueller, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (Oct 2019)
