About this Item

Cabernet Sauvignon 2018
6 (1 x 6) 750ml
Cederberg is South Africa's highest wine estate, isolated high in the Cederberg mountains and run by David Nieuwoudt, making pure, aromatic, cool-climate reds and whites. 2018 was the last of four drought vintages, very dry and concentrated. Tim Atkin MW scored it 90 in his South Africa Special Report 2020, and Alison Napjus from Wine Spectator gave it a rating of 90.

Critics Ratings

"Intense, concentrated and richly perfumed, as the wines of Cederberg tend to be, given the altitude of these isolated vineyards, this is firm and well structured with 40% new wood, fynbos, fig and blackcurrant pastille fruit and supporting acidity." - Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2020, 90/100 (Sep 2020)

"A rich, medium- to full-bodied red, featuring flavors of black plum and cherry reduction accented by fragrant tobacco and rosemary. The lasting finish reveals smoke and spice notes alongside chewy tannins." - Alison Napjus, Wine Spectator, 90/100 (Apr 2023)
