Critics Ratings
"Tasted blind. Racy, polished, long. A wine with substance. Impossible to dislike, surely? Silky texture but with real depth, even if there is a bit of alcohol on the end. Long." - Jancis Robinson, JancisRobinson.com, 17.5/20 (Jul 2025)
"Ripe and direct, featuring a frame of sweet vanilla around a core of cherry paste and plum fruit. A frank licorice note drapes the finish, with a streak of graphite keeping this honest. Enjoy the fruit now or let this gain elegance with a bit of cellaring." - James Molesworth, Wine Spectator, 92/100 (Oct 2018)
"The 2015 Syrah has a more brooding bouquet than the Solms Delta Swartland Syrah, yet it is just as complex with gamey black fruit, notes of curry leaf and light white pepper aromas. Fine delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with fine, grainy tannins. Quite sapid, peppery in style with a cohesive and persistent finish. Again, this is aging at a gradual pace and will repay further bottle age if you desire. Excellent. Tasted blind at the 10-Year-On horizontal in London." - Neal Martin, Vinous, 92/100 (May 2025)
