Prado Enea Gran Reserva 2005

Bodegas Muga, founded in 1932 by Isaac Muga and Aurora Caño in the Barrio de la Estación of Haro, is one of the most traditional houses in Rioja Alta, employing its own master cooper and working with gravity racking, egg-white fining and indigenous yeasts. Prado Enea is the family’s flagship Gran Reserva, a Tempranillo-led blend completed with Garnacha, Mazuelo and Graciano, made only in good years from late-harvested fruit and given an extended cask ageing of around three years. The 2005 came from an excellent vintage and remains a slow-evolving, classically tertiary wine.
