'Abrie Beeslaar only makes 5,000 bottles of this rich, oaky, concentrated Pinotage, which makes it something of a collector's item. With more red than black fruits in 2016, it's smoky, toasty and textured with lovely fruit sweetness. 2022-30.' - Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2018, 94/100
'Scents of crushed purple violets, fruit cake, sweet tobacco and roasted espresso all dance on the nose of this intense yet layered red. It's rich and bold in feel, but not overdone, with a full palate of seductive dark-fruit flavors and framing tannins that produce a firm structure and chewy texture through the close. It's an infant now, but this classically styled Pinotage has lots of potential ahead of it, so hold until 2024 and enjoy through 2029 for added maturity and harmony.' - Lauren Buzzeo, Wine Enthusiast, 94/100 (May 2021)
'Ripe and rich, but 2016 refined enough to make the 14.5% alcohol a surprise, so balanced it is. Plenty of sweet fruit (dark cherries, raspberries) and velvet texture, with tannins molten and soft, though informing, and good acidity. 50% new oak well integrated. 2015 (4.5 stars, 93 pts) as ageworthy.' - Platter's SA Wine Guide 2019, 5* (95/100)
