Vintage Port 1987

Rustenberg is one of the oldest and most historically significant estates in South Africa, farming its Simonsberg property since 1892. The estate produced Vintage Port-style wines across much of the 20th century from traditional Cape Portuguese varieties, and the 1987 Rustenberg Vintage Port is a rare survivor from this now-discontinued chapter of the estate's history. Made in the classical Cape fortified tradition with pot-still spirit and large old oak maturation, the 1987 has spent nearly four decades finding its equilibrium.

At nearly forty years of age, it has developed the complex secondary character of a mature Cape Port: dried fruit, toffee, chocolate and well-integrated spirit.
