About this Item
Beaune Les Marconnets 2019
4 (1 x 4) 750ml
The 2019 Côte de Beaune harvest produced wines of exceptional ripeness, opulent fruit concentration and generous, approachable character, a warmly received and widely acclaimed vintage of early pleasure that also possesses the structural depth for continued rewarding development in the cellar. Bouchard Père & Fils' 2019 Beaune Les Marconnets is a richly expressive and deeply satisfying expression of this historic Premier Cru, the generous conditions of the vintage producing a wine of greater concentration and more opulent fruit character than is typical of this classically structured parcel at the northern limits of the Beaune appellation. Les Marconnets is one of the oldest Premier Cru vineyards in Beaune, its name traced to the Germanic Marcomans who settled here in the 3rd century AD, with Bouchard Père & Fils having farmed 2.32 hectares at the northernmost point of the appellation since 1791, the layers of grey, marly chalk lending this distinguished cru its hallmark character, elegance and bouquet. The wine is produced from 100% Pinot Noir, aged 12 to 14 months in French oak with 30 to 40% new barrels.
Provenance
