About this Item
CWG 2001
6 (1 x 6) 750ml
The 2001 Stellenbosch vintage produced wines of genuine depth, concentration and classical structure from the Simonsberg’s finest sites, with the best producers delivering wines of real breeding and longevity. Kanonkop’s 2001 CWG auction wine represents a special barrel selection chosen from the estate’s finest material and bottled exclusively for the Cape Winemakers Guild auction, a recognition that positions it among the most prestigious South African wines produced that year. Kanonkop is one of South Africa’s most celebrated estates, its Bordeaux-style reds from the Simonsberg widely regarded as benchmark expressions of Stellenbosch at its finest, consistently demonstrating the structured, cellar-worthy profile for which the estate is celebrated.
Provenance
This lot comes from the late Harold Eedes, who served as Managing Director of Wine Magazine for nine years. A highly respected and much-loved figure in the South African wine industry, Harold assembled a thoughtful collection that includes a number of mature Bordeaux wines. The wines have been professionally stored under temperature-controlled conditions at Brice & Burnett since acquisition.
