La Dame de Montrose Saint-Estèphe is a second wine produced by Château Montrose, one of Bordeaux's prestigious Second Growth (Deuxième Cru Classé) estates in the Saint-Estèphe appellation on the Left Bank of France. It's made from fruit grown in the same vineyard as the Grand Vin (the main Château Montrose wine) however is selected and vinified as a separate cuvée, aimed at earlier accessibility while still showing quality and typicity.

‘As you’d expect from the second wine of Montrose in a top year like 2016, this is a muscular, sinewy, densely constructed wine with lots of smoky, aromatic oak, damson and blueberry fruit and layered, compact tannins. Needs time. 2025-36’ - Tim Atkin MW, timatkin.com, 94/100 (Apr 2017)

‘A little subdued right now but the fresh, floral edging of the grand vin is also clear here, balanced by juicy black fruit flavours and a similar sense of restraint.
