Notes

Lodewyk Willem Christiaan Beck was a silversmith, goldsmith, and jeweller who worked in the Cape Colony during the mid-nineteenth century. He is believed to have been the son of Lodewyk Christiaan Willem Beck and Woutrina Catharina de Vos. He was listed at the following locations across two decades: from 1847 to 1862 he appeared at various addresses on Shortmarket Street as a jeweller, followed by a listing at Greenmarket Square in 1863. He then settled at 14 Shortmarket Street from 1864 to 1867, where he is recorded as both a goldsmith and jeweller.
