Notes
This work forms part of a series developed over a six-year period, exploring the cathartic process of unpacking the Helderberg plane crash. The location of the crash site, along with evidence sourced from a forensic investigator, was incorporated into a mapped image laid over the ocean floor. The ocean becomes both a gravesite and an archive of memory, a place that holds the mystery of the event, which remains unresolved 38 years later.
The symbol of the bronchial branches is significant within this series. It draws a parallel between the continuous flow of air through our lungs and the movement of ocean currents, as the Earth relies on these vital tides to sustain life.
