About this Item

Saint-Julien 1996
4 (1 x 4) 750ml
Château Lagrange is one of the largest and most consistently high-performing estates in Saint-Julien, located on the gravelly croupes (ridges) typical of the appellation. Its wines combine the structure and depth of Pauillac with the refinement and balance characteristic of Saint-Julien.

The 1996 vintage is one of the great Médoc years of the decade: marked by a long, dry harvest, excellent Cabernet Sauvignon ripeness, and superb ageing potential. It’s widely regarded as one of the château’s finest vintages of the 1990s.

Critics Ratings

'Bright youthful crimson. Scented. Very direct and youthful with marked acidity. This tastes as though the grapes were not as ripe as in most of the other 1996 St-Juliens tasted alongside it.' - Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com, 16/20 (Feb 2011)
