Clive van den Berg was born in Zambia in 1956 and is an artist and creative who lives and works in Johannesburg. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Natal in 1976. Van den Berg has worked in numerous media throughout his career: prints, paintings, sculpture, and films. He has also worked on various large-scale public projects to create inclusively designed public spaces. Among these projects are the Northern Cape Legislature buildings, Freedom Park, and Constitution Hill.
Van den Berg has held solo exhibitions throughout South Africa and has participated in several local and international group shows, including at the São Paulo Museum of Art in Brazil, the Smithsonian National Museum of African Art in Washington, DC, USA, and the Museum for African Art in New York City, New York, USA. His work is represented in many of the most prestigious collections in South Africa, such as the Iziko South African National Gallery in Cape Town, Johannesburg Art Gallery, Durban Art Museum, Pretoria Art Gallery, Tatham Art Gallery in Pietermaritzburg, and more.
