Notes
Lyn Smuts was born in 1951 in Bloemfontein, South Africa. She studied at the Michaelis School of Fine Art (UCT), the University of Natal, and the Academie voor Schone Kunsten in Ghent. From 1981 to 1988, she lectured in Printmaking at the University of Stellenbosch. Now a full-time artist based in Stellenbosch, she has held five solo exhibitions and shown work in Belgium, Germany, and the USA. Her work is held in major public collections, including the IZIKO South African National Gallery, the Johannesburg Art Gallery, and several university collections.
