Notes

An Aubusson rug is a traditionally flat-woven carpet originating form the French town of Aubusson, characterized by pastel colours, floral motifs and Neo-classical designs. Dating back to the 15th century, these antique rugs were created for European royalty, featuring tapestry-like textures that are usually pileless, made with wool and sometimes silk.
