‘Very few producers make pure Jonkershoek reds, which is a shame given how special the terroir is. This is Cabernet Sauvignon based, with 15% Petit Verdot, Malbec, Cabernet Franc and Petite Sirah, sourced from sites between 150 and 600 metres. Serious, dense and focused, with crunchy blackcurrant fruit, granular tannins and appealing lift and freshness. 2023-28' - Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2020, 93/100
‘The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon has a crisp, minty bouquet of lifted black cherry and blueberry scents; light cedary scents emerge with time. The palate is medium-bodied with a slightly herbaceous opening. Firm in terms of structure, and the oak is nicely integrated, though I cannot help feeling that some Merlot on the finish would have enhanced this wine overall. 2022-2029’ - Neal Martin, Vinous (Apr 2021)
