'There are only 500 bottles of this rare Cape Peninsula Syrah (the vineyard is tiny), so you need to buy it soon, if not necessarily to drink it straight away. Low in alcohol it may be, yet this doesn't lack structure. Meaty, savoury and smoky, it has taut acidity, bramble and raspberry fruit and fine tobacco-like tannins.' - Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2016, 93/100
'This opens with a strong herbal impression, redolent of fresh fynbos, tilled earth, frankincense and violet, which mix harmoniously with the wild strawberry and boysenberry fruit core. The medium-weight palate is bright and juicy, with a crushed-satin texture thanks to ample acidity and structured yet fine tannins. The pure finish leads with ripe fruit flavors that transition seamlessly to notes of sweet spice and finally a fresh, salty sea-spray accent. It's easy to like now, but it should hold well through 2028.' - Lauren Buzzeo, Wine Enthusiast, 93/100 (Mar 2018)
'This delivers a gorgeous beam of boysenberry and plum fruit, laced with a gentle violet hint and carrying through a silky, white pepper-accented finish. Long and refined, with purity to burn. Syrah. Drink now through 2022.' - James Molesworth, Wine Spectator, 93/100 (Feb 2017)
'The 2015 The Girl Next Door comes from two small parcels of Syrah on the Cape Peninsula with just 12.5% alcohol. It is closed on the nose at first, dark berry fruit, a subtle sea spray influence that dovetails with more floral/rose petals scents. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, silky smooth in the mouth with cranberry and pomegranate on the entry, a fine line of acidity, quite lined with a detailed, saline and lingering finish. This is excellent and an outstanding follow up to the 2014. Just 600-1,000 bottles produced.' - Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, 93/100 (Apr 2017)
