'A dry white intended as a counterpoint to Ygrec from Yquem, it was apparently only made once on account of it not attracting a popular following. By no means perfect, it was a wine that I found compelling nevertheless. Honeyed, nutty, earthy notes as you'd expect on a wine of this age but still some lime and tangerine and lovely coated acidity. It also managed to have breadth and depth, a rare combination. Proof once again of how well Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon combine (although this wine might also have contained a dash of Muscadelle).' - Christian Eedes, WineMag.co.za (Jan 2013)
