Notes

Charles Rennie Mackintosh was a Scottish architect and designer who was known for blending the Arts and Crafts movement with Art Nouveau influences. The Willow chair blended organic inspiration with abstract geometry and was designed in 1902-1904 for the Willow Tearoom in Glasgow. The high, semi-circular back enclosed the sitter providing privacy, while elevating this chair from ordinary seating with its iconic presence.

Cassina is the exclusive licensed manufacturer for many iconic pieces. They are respected for their authentic re-editions of classic modernist furniture, working closely with the original designers or their estates to ensure accuracy and quality. Cassina acquired the production rights to the Willow chair in the early 1970s and re-launched it as 'Willow 1/ model 312'.
