About this Item
This internationally acclaimed, long-ageing Bordeaux blend was named after former owner, Paul Sauer, and was first made in 1981.
A 3-litre bottle of wine is called a Jeroboam. These large-format bottles are often used for aging, celebration, or display, and can hold wine extremely well due to the lower oxygen-to-wine ratio.

Critics Ratings
'In latest 1992 release, acid 5,7gms/l, mediu-paced 12,5% alc. (usullay nearer 13%). Typical Kanonkop nuttiness with sweet, ripe berry finish. Estates's regulation 18 months in oak, 50% new barrels. Truter believes 1992 slots between excellent 1994 and 1991 (latter VG, gold medal at Brussels Mondiale). Though quite impressively multi-layered, with consistent character - rugged, not fashioned to namby pamby finesse - 1992 probably won't have reach of either, nor of super-vintage 1986.' - Platter's SA Guide 1996 - 4*
