Critics Ratings
'The 2004 Kanonkop Cabernet Sauvignon has an intriguing bouquet: blackberry, a touch of espresso, mint and sage - quite intense and focused. The palate is ripe on the entry with dusky, cocoa-tinged black fruit. There is a good line of acidity and focus, segueing toward a more reserved, quite linear finish. This is drinking beautifully now.' - Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, 90/100 (Oct 2014)
'Luscious aromas of black cherry, raspberry and coffee are followed by a balanced wave of mocha, plums, vanilla and tobacco on the palate. Spicy with ageable tannins, the wine would go well with roasted meat, beef or stews.' - Susan Kostrzewa, Wine Enthusiast, 91/100 (Aug 2010)
'Ripe and full-bodied, offering delicious black currant, fig and licorice snap flavors that glide through the polished finish. A dash of loam adds length. Bottle age has tamed this, but it still has plenty of life.' - James Molesworth, Wine Spectator, 91/100 (Mar 2010)
