‘The 1990 Duhart-Milon is a vintage I have not drunk for a long time. Served blind, it has a lovely nose of blackberry, singed leather, hung game and pencil shavings. The palate is fresh and well-balanced, disguising the warmth of the growing season with some style thanks to the perfectly judged acidity. Yes, a little foursquare on the finish, it is Duhart after all, but what a gorgeous wine. This is an ex-château bottle that was served at Maison François in London. 2021-2035’ - Neal Martin, Vinous, 91/100 (Oct 2021)
'Gorgeous, firm wine. Good dark ruby color. Lovely berry, cherry, currant aromas. Full-bodied, with firm, well-integrated tannins and a long finish. Needs time.--1990 Bordeaux retrospective. Best after 2005.’ - Wine Spectator, 91/100 (Aug 2000)
‘The 1990 has turned out better than I expected. It offers a classic Lafite perfume of graphite/lead pencil shavings interwoven with red and black currants, fresh porcini mushrooms, smoke, and tobacco leaf. Medium to full-bodied, soft, and elegant, it is not as concentrated as the 1982, but is a luscious, round Pauillac to enjoy over the next 5-10 years’- Robert M. Parker, Jr., Wine Advocate, 90/100 (Jun 2009)
