Critics Ratings
'Still youthful, handsome flagship 2005 clearly Cabernet Sauvignon-led in its plush tones, dominant, fine and dry grip. 20% Cabernet Franc and Merlot input. 2 year in new French oak adds to overall complexity, classy profile'. - Platter's SA Wine Guide 2011, 5*
'The 2005 GVB Red is a blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot and 9% Cabernet Franc raised in new French oak for 24 months. It has an attractive bouquet of blackberry, cranberry, sage and roasted chestnut, a bit of Old World lashed to a bit of New. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannins, rustic black fruit laced with tobacco and sage notes with a very refined finish. This is an astutely crafted wine.' - Neil Martin, Wine Advocate, 90/100 (Dec 2012)
