Notes
Mari Simmulson was a prominent Swedish ceramicist, and one of the leading designers for Gustavsberg and Upsala-Ekeby factories. She was known for her innovative use of color and form; using vibrant, abstract patterns and a rich glaze exemplifying her modernist approach. The 'Sagina' series features gently swelling forms, linear textures, and pastel-coloured leaves. This series highlighted her skills and contribution to mid 20th century Scandinavian design.
