Notes
Hjördis Oldfors (1920-2014) was a well-known Swedish ceramist of the 20th century. She was one of the leading designers for the Upsala-Ekeby factory in the 1950s and 1960s. Oldfors designed the 'Koko' (Coconut) series in 1954 and 'Lian' series in 1958. The lot consists of a set of bowls and a vase crafted from yellow-glazed stoneware which have swelling forms, unglazed clay, and yellow linear relief. Her work in these series reflects her modernist approach, emphasizing clean lines and functional design while utilizing the warm, appealing hue of yellow glaze to create a striking visual impact. The stoneware material offers durability and a refined texture.
